This is my shout out to any seniors in the locality who've ever wondered about the benefits of getting a Personal Trainer
Join a gym? Lift weights? Get fit? At my age? Seriously?
There's been a lot of hype recently about the benefits of resistance training for seniors. However joining a gym for the first time ever at the age of 75 was still a daunting experience for me.
Fortunately Danny at Globe Works is not only a very experienced trainer, he also has a gift for putting people at their ease .
He is meticulous about correct technique. No 'going through the motions' or taking short cuts. And no pushing beyond your limits
Personal and varied session plans ensure that I'm making steady progress with just the right amount of challenge built in.
And did I mention how spacious and well laid out the Gym itself is
I regularly train now with other members half my age and under. They're such nice people:, super encouraging and super friendly.
And don't underestimate what learning new skills and achieving measured levels of progress can do for your confidence in everyday life either. More often than not I'll finish my session in the warm glow of a personal best or even a 'quite good'.. I feel stronger, more physically able to cope with day to day chores and really look forward to my regular sessions.
